C&G 2346-03 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker NVQ

If you are working within the electrical domain and have all the experience but no formal qualification then you should really consider the City & Guilds 2346-03  Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker NVQ Qualification.

This NVQ qualification is specifically designed for those with electrical experience but lack the qualifications needed to get a JIB gold card or level of registration with a competent person scheme.

The  C&G 2346-03 NVQ Experienced Worker route, will allow you to earn a qualification while you work and upon completion allow you to apply for the competent person scheme or JIB Gold Card that you need to progress your electrical career.

If you are an experienced electrician or someone who has worked within the electrical field for 5 years or more and wants to get a formal qualification, then the C&G 2346-03 could be for you!

The NVQ is suitable for both employed and self-employed persons working within the electrical industry.

A great feature of this qualification is that it takes into consideration any experience, skills or qualifications that you may already have, the NVQ will fill in the gaps.

Location: Site based / Remotely, via Teams, Zoom or any other Video Method available to you.

Qualification Gained: City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification

Duration: 6-12 Months (site based with remote communication between you and your assessor via email, telephone and online meetings throughout your progress)

Requirements: Minimum 5 years working in an electrical role. -This qualification is not suitable for new entrants to the electrotechnical industry, apprentices, or other operatives who require any training, or those who have completed an electrotechnical technical certificate with less than five years’ relevant industry experience.

Structure

What you need to do to complete the Experienced Worker Assessment:

• Complete the C&G 2346 NVQ Portfolio
• Have the latest Wiring Regulations Qualification (18th Edition 2382)
• Have an Initial Verification Inspection and Testing Qualification (C&G 2391-50 – or Equivalent)

Routes to Qualify

We offer two variations of this qualification, one for those who have already achieved their C&G 2382 and C&G 2391 and another for those who will need to complete these as part of their assessment.

Route 1 – NVQ | £1,500+vat :
Experienced Worker, 5 years experience, for those who already hold C&G 2382 Wiring regulations and C&G2391 certificates.

Route 2 Package – NVQ incl. C&G2382 18th Edition & C&G2391 Testing and Inspection Course | £2,250+vat
NVQ Plus Courses Package: For those who need to gain the wiring regulations and testing and inspection qualifications.
This package includes NVQ Plus,  C&G 2382 – 18th Edition Course and Exam (3 Days at a training location) and C&G 2391-50 5 days Full Course and Exam.

This is not a Training Course

It is an assessment of your competencies and is mandatory for those who require JIB Gold Card Status.
The NVQ is relatively easy to achieve if you are actively working within the electrical industry and have access to the right kind of work as it is based on existing qualifications, and site work-based assessments of competence.

You will write and record evidence of work undertaken covering the various unit criteria required for the qualification. You will document and provide evidence.

You are then ok to enrol on the NVQ development path most suitable for your circumstances.

What is the skills scan?

SKILLS SCAN – This is a generic Electrotechnical Experiences Worker Assessment (EWA) that is designed to help you decide whether this NVQ is the right path for you. The EWA mirrors the content of the NVQ 2346-03 and will help you to assess whether you will be able to demonstrate and provide the evidence required to pass the EWA.

Candidate Background – Work history and qualifications that must be submitted to your assessor prior to starting the NVQ

Exams and qualifications
The NVQ does not include any exams, it is all completed through Assessments, a Portfolio and Remote Site observations by your Assessor.

Please note: For the JIB Gold card, you may be required to complete and AM2E assessment in addition to the NVQ. This is not included in the 2346-03 qualification.
