About Commercial Skilled Persons Mechanical Training
A two-day training course designed to provide learners with an appreciation of the principal aims and objectives of the Mechanical Systems Safety Rules and Procedures. This course is designed for Skilled Persons and Prospective Persons in charge or those who have been appointed to work to company-specific safety rules and procedures for mechanical systems.
Delegates will gain a greater understanding in compliance with legislation and how to better communicate with colleagues and management as well as improving safe working procedures.
What Does the Course Cover?
- Requirements of statutory regulation/legislation
- Roles and duties of key personnel – AP Mechanical – P in C Mechanical and Skilled Persons Mechanical
- An introduction to mechanical safety rules and procedures
- Review of system components and associated dangers
- Mechanical systems risk assessment
- Safe methods of isolation
- Creating, documenting and enforcing safe working procedures
Onsite Training
This course can be held on your premises or at a suitable location for you or your staff. A minimum of 6 or a maximum of 8 people can attend this 2 Day course.
Content can be adapted to reflect your own businesses safety rules and documentation.

Assessment
Delegates complete practical exercises that involve the management, application and control of documentation. There is an emphasis on hands on experience wherever this is possible.
Assessment is by a written paper on an isolation documentation exercise.
What Certification Will I Receive from This Course?
On successful completion of the course assessment, you will receive a Certificate of Competence.
Are There Any Course Materials Required?
Delegates can bring with them any materials used by their own employer/company, this includes copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they are able to use real-life examples and gain insight into how their existing protocol fits into the context of the course.
