Certificate Gained:  PASS Certificate of Competency (Certificate of Attendance gained for those who do not pass the tests)

Entry Requirements: Suitable for engineers, supervisors and technicians with responsibility for operation/maintenance of both on/offshore wind turbines.

About the Wind Turbine Power Switching Stockton Programme

Important Note: as a programme designed for those wanting to train up to Senior Authorised Person level, this programme is not suitable for those without previous electrical experience. If you have limited electrical experience, considering attending the HVSO6 (Practical Introduction to the Safe Operation of High/Low Switchgear) training programme instead.

Gain the training and skills you need to become a senior authorised person (SAP) responsible for performing safe switching of power distribution networks on wind turbines with our Wind Turbine Power Switching Programme in Stockton.

Taking place at our dedicated high voltage training centre in North East England, you’ll take part in a mix of theoretical and practical training, ensuring you understand the important principles behind being a safe authorised person, as well as the best practises for safely performing switching inside wind turbines.

Our high voltage training centre is in Stockton-On-Tees in the heart of Teesside. It’s within easy access from anywhere in the North East, including Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle.

Course Suitability

Are There Any Entry Requirements?

You should be an engineer, supervisor or technician working within the renewable energy industry, or you should be working towards working within this industry.

Anyone attending training should also have a good level of both spoken and written English.
