This course introduces candidates to the legal implications and requirements of employees and employers, concerning The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. It is suitable for anyone who works in or around electrical power systems ranging between 12Volts to 400,000Volts.

The course content will ensure that attendees have a full and sufficient understanding of the legal implications and responsibilities associated with the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

The content will cover:

• Hazards & Effects of Electricity
• The Purpose & Background of the Regulations
• Scope of the Regulations
• Employers, Employees & Contractors Responsibilities
• Review of Regulations
• Legal Implications of Non-Compliance

Assessments

Assessment is via written examination (Open Book).

Candidates who successfully complete the theoretical competency assessment will receive a PASS Certificate of Competence in The Electricity At Work Regulations 1989. Those who fail or do not wish to undertake the competency assessment will receive a PASS “Attendance” certificate.
