Our LCL Accredited Hot Water Systems and Safety Training Course is a dedicated 1-day programme designed for plumbing and heating professionals. This comprehensive course covers the latest industry regulations, safety requirements and best practices for the installation, maintenance and servicing of hot water systems, including unvented cylinders. By completing this training, you’ll meet the competency standards required by Building Regulations (Approved Document G3) and be recognised with an industry-respected certificate from LCL.
We offer two pathways: the initial assessment for those who have not previously taken the HWSS and a re-assessment for those who have a current certificate that is expiring or expired.
Entry Requirements / Suitability
Candidates must be experienced in the installation of cold/hot water systems and hold a DCLG-recognised competency (gas, oil, solid fuel) OR an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in plumbing (or demonstrable experience). Knowledge of WRAS Water (fittings) Regulations is desirable.
- Candidates must have a background in plumbing, heating, or a related trade.
- Experience in hot water and heating installations is recommended.
- You must have a good working knowledge of the Building Regulations relevant to plumbing and heating.
Certification
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded an LCL Accredited Hot Water Systems & Safety certificate. This qualification demonstrates you are authorised and competent to install and maintain unvented systems in line with current legislation.
Certificates are valid for 5 years, after which re-assessment is required.
