Online 18th Edition FULL Course, Including City & Guilds 2382-26 Exam

This 18th Edition online course is ideal for anyone who wants to study at home and/or around their current work commitments. It is designed so you can learn at your own pace using online tutorials to guide you through the Wiring Regulations.

It covers all aspects of the full 3-day 18th Edition course and includes a City & Guilds examination, which can be taken at any of our exam centres across the UK.

This course will take approximately 20 hours to complete and covers all of the key areas required to take the City & Guilds 2382-26 Exam.

Suitability

It is most suited to those who are new to the Wiring Regs or for those who might not have studied them for a while and might be a little unpracticed. The course doesn’t assume any prior knowledge, apart from the fact that you are a working electrician or are about to be one!

Anyone who requires an understanding of BS 7671 should take this course. This includes practising electricians, designers, consultants, electrical engineers, contracts managers and all related trades.

The online course aims to get you conversant with the content, format and requirements of the 18th edition. It comes with a mock exam simulator, allowing you to test your knowledge and help you to gauge when you are ready to take the official exam.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course, however, it is aimed at those working in the electrical trade or supporting building trades. Or those looking to enter the electrical industry.

The content is delivered by industry guru’s Dave Austin, Tony Cable and Gary Gundry and includes a selection of videos taken in real-world situations. The videos provide you with a deeper understanding and help to reinforce your knowledge of the regulations. It also includes many animations and interactive exercises, bringing the course to life.

  • Changes introduced in Amendment 2:
    • Arc fault detection devices (AFDDs)
    • Surge protection
    • Fire safety design for buildings
    • Prosumer’s low-voltage electrical installations
  • Changes introduced in Amendment 3:
    • Selecting and installing protective devices in situations where additional power sources (batteries, EV chargers, PV systems) are involved
  • Changes introduced in Amendment 4:
    • New requirements for stationary secondary batteries
    • Functional earthing and bonding for ICT equipment
    • Dedicated section for Power over Ethernet (PoE)
    • Major revisions to Section 710: Medical Locations

Exam Simulator

The online 18th Edition course comes complete with an exam simulator. You will get unlimited access to the exam simulator so you are able to test your knowledge and see if there are any areas that you need to revisit. The simulator will tell you how long you have taken to answer each question and will feedback to you your strengths and weaknesses to help target your study time more effectively.

What You Will Need

To have the best experience we recommend that you have access to good quality broadband (at least 8MB/sec). The course is in Full HD, so you will get the best viewing experience on a 28cm or higher screen, although it is viewable on most devices including; ipads, tables and smart phones.

You will also need a copy of the BS 7671:2026 book as this is referred to throughout the course and for the exam.
