Creative Planning for Congested Areas Workshop

This workshop is for practised drone operators to help broaden their thinking and learn how drones can be used in congested areas and how to develop an operating safety case.

Learn how to plan for using drones in congested areas, and develop an OSC (Operating Safety Case)

If you think that operating drones in congested areas is impossible, then this workshop is for you.

The workshop will help you to look at things differently, allowing you to consider more complex scenarios.

Designed for established drone operators this Creative Planning for congested areas workshop will allow you to build the skills to operate safely and at minimum risk in those heavily congested areas.

You will learn how to develop an operating safety case (OSC) with the insight for an OSC application.

Workshop Content

The course content is developed to encourage creative thinking that is employed by experienced drone pilots.

The day will begin with a discussion looking at the limitations which you operate under as a standard PfCO. Looking at real-life examples the course will cover how footage was obtained from congested areas.

For the practical aspect of the course, you will be taken to a location close to the venue where you will work together in small groups. You will have to access the location, document it’s challenges and then inform the group your findings. After the planning exercise, the course will cover the key points of an OSC.

Overview:

  • The Congested Area Operating Safety Case
  • Approaching the CAA with an Unmanned Aircraft System Operating Safety Case (UASOSC) and the CAA’s requirements
  • Proper and Full Risk Assessments
  • Creative and Imaginative Solutions to Congested Area Operations
  • Practical planning of a city centre engagement

Course Length

This is a one day Workshop covering both theory and practical elements of congestion planning.
