Course Details

NEBOSH construction focuses on developing your knowledge of health and safety within the construction industry. During the course, you’ll take three modules, dealing with basic knowledge of health and safety, how to apply this in real life and also take part in a practical assigment.

A breakdown of each of the modules included follows:

NGC1 – Management of National Health and Safety

This basic module is designed as a general introduction to health and safety in the UK. It focuses on developing your understanding of health and safety, including actions you should take.

The following elements are included as part of the unit:

  • Foundations in health and safety
  • Health and safety management systems – Plan
  • Health and safety management systems – Do
  • Health and safety management systems – Check
  • Health and safety management systems – Act

A two hour written exam will be taken after the course content.

NCC1 – Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities

The main module included as part of this course is NCC1 – Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities. The following elements are included as part of this module:

  • Element 1 – Construction law and management
  • Element 2 – Construction site – hazards and risk control
  • Element 3 – Vehicle and plant movement – hazards and risk control
  • Element 4 – Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
  • Element 5 – Work equipment – hazards and risk control
  • Element 6 – Electrical safety
  • Element 7 – Fire safety
  • Element 8 – Chemical and biological health – hazards and risk control
  • Element 9 – Physical and psychological health – hazards and risk control
  • Element 10 – Working at height – hazards and risk control
  • Element 11 – Excavation work and confined spaces – hazards and risk control
  • Element 12 – Demolition and deconstruction – hazards and risk control

A two hour written exam will be taken after the course content.

NCC2 – Construction Health and Safety Practical Application
